American ambassador to Nepal James F. Moriarty has said the embassy is ready to review the visa applications of the Diversity Visa 'victims'.
Moriarty said this during his meeting with Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan Monday morning, according to reports.
The US ambassador expressed this commitment after the 'DV victims' continued their fast unto death since last six days disobeying his call to call off the hunger strike they have been staging in front of the embassy.
Earlier, DV victims had staged relay hunger strike in front of the embassy for 100 days. They have been visa for the US as they had been selected under the Diversity Visa programme.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry has appealed to the protesting DV victims to call off their strike. Issuing a press statement, the Ministry suggested the protesters to a negotiated solution to their problem.
On the other hand, the protesters have asked the government to find a solution to their problem through diplomatic channel.
