Eligibility
To be eligible for the Green Card Lottery:
You must be an inhabitant of an eligible country. (The Green Card Lottery is not available to people who come from countries that have sent more than 50,000 immigrants to the United States in the past five years.)
You must have a high school diploma (or its equivalent) or two years of experience in a job requiring at least two years of training or experience.
Winning the Green Card Lottery does not automatically grant United States Citizenship. Several forms must be submitted and approved by the U.S. government before permanent residence is awarded.
The application for Green Card Lottery is available online, but entries are only accepted for a limited time. Each applicant can only submit only entry per year. If you submit more than one entry you will be disqualified.
